Roger Williamson Fatal Crash.

Grand Prix circuit racer Roger Williamson crashes hard on lap 8, rolls his car and catches fire. Yards away stood a fire tender, but no order was given to stop the race. Worse, marshals with fire extinguishers merely watched as friend and colleague David Purley fought a lone battle to right the upturned car. What happens next will break your heart.

Barona Speedway's 17-race season

Barona Speedway's 17-race season begins Saturday night with a full schedule of stock cars, 360/410 sprint cars and Dwarf cars on the quarter-mile oval.

The dirt oval, located 4.8 miles northeast of the Barona Casino on Wildcat Canyon road between Lakeside and Ramona, will run every other Saturday night through the first week in November.
Street, factory and pony stock cars and the Dwarf cars will be part of every program. Touring features include the 360/410 sprints, the 600cc sprints and the IMCA modifieds.
